I could not help but reflect on how this extraordinary year has affected us all. It made me think about all the things I am #grateful and #thankful for: my amazing team, my loving family and my dear friends. It also made me wonder, what was the world grateful and thankful for in 2020? As it turns out, we can figure it out by analyzing every single tweet that contained a #grateful and #thankful hashtag. All 88,683 tweets.
Our analysis revealed four major themes that people were most grateful and thankful about this year (in no particular order):
Self care and personal wellbeing;
Family, friends and community;
Health care workers such as doctors and nurses; and
Peace, spirituality and different religious faiths
And you? What are you most thankful and grateful for this year?
Thank you for reading and on behalf of everyone at Kai Analytics, may you have a safe and restful holiday season. See you in 2021!
Sincerely yours,
Kevin Chang
