Text Analysis for Higher Education
Whether it's student satisfaction, campus climate, or alumni surveys, analyzing open-ended comments from the results can be a daunting task. During this workshop, we will examine some concepts in natural language processing (aka text analysis) and see how they apply to higher education. No software installation and coding experience is required.
Workshop goals

Identify key concepts from NLP and linguistics and how they are used to analyze language.

Apply general NLP functions in the Natural Language Toolkit (NLTK) package in Python. Using Google Colab.

Interpret and visualize the results.

Recognize some of NLTK's limitations.
